Police are often used when repossession companies are facing hostile conditions or if the repossession employee or agent is being threatened or assaulted. Police can be used in their official position or sometimes off time they can be used as civil escorts. The repossession company can repossess your company and sometimes personal belongings are left in the car. It is up to the owner to obtain those goods or arrange to have them picked up. If you have positive proof the repossession agent took your personal belongings (essentially stole them), you need to contact the police and file a report and contact the company and explain what occurred. You can sue and you should contact the state agency who may have jurisdiction over such agents, since many states license these companies.
