Apperantly he blamed me, and now they sent my bill to a collection agency, do I have to pay this if it was not my fault?
Question Details: About a year ago I was in a car accident, I had yield and safely entered a rotary, as I went around getting ready to exit a car from behind was on the wrong side of the rotary and tried cutting off acouple of cars to catch his exit and he hit the back side of my mothers car (near her tire). The thing is I was driving without a license but my mother had insurance on the car and was aware I took the car. I pulled over and so did he, he began to panic, the police were never called because he refused to call the police .. he just asked me for my ID and telephone number. A year later i get a bill
Who did you get a bill from? Did either of you ever report the incident to your insurance companies (in your case, to your mother's insurance company)? You may want to retain an attorney to help you settle this.
