Am I getting low balled?

Question Details:

I was rear ended and the damage to my truck was $10,000, my med bills about $3,000 and loss wages about $100. The adjusters want to settle for $5,500. So in my pocket I'll walk away with about $2,300. My lawyer says I wont get much more. Am I getting low balled? I had to go to the chiropractor for about 4 months. Things are better but never the same. It's been over a year since the accident and this is the 2nd offer they've made.

Its hard to tell without knowing all the facts but on the limited information you presented the offer seems low. Generally speaking with clear liability, significant property damage and consistent medial treatment that started withing a day or three of the collision your case should be work 2 to 3 times the medical bills plus lost wages. This is a ball park estimate and there are factors that could change the value of the case but that my quick evaluation and but I have only been doing this for about 25 years.
