If, after a doctor undercharged me for my copay for 3 months of visits, can they suddenly demand a payment of $55 because their mistake?
Question Details: After seeing a therapist for 3 months and paying my $20 copay each visit, she sends me a bill for $55 to let me know she undercharged me the entire time and I owe that amount. Do I have to pay this?
Under the laws of all states in this country you technically may be responsible for the extra $55.00 amount that you were undercharged by your treating physician's office. However, from a business perspective to request such seems to be a poor business decision on your treating physician's part.
