Question Details: in an accident on 9/29, car was totaled - other persons insurance is not willing to pay anything except a car rental and only for a few days. my car only had 2 payments left on it and then was mine. wanted to save that payment for a year and then buy another car. They say i can't claim that - is this true and what can i claim
I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. Unfortunately, your payment will be the blue book value of your car. you can use the payments to pay the remianing balance of the loan and then use the remaining money as a down payment on a new car or a lease. I suggest filing a lawsuit for pain and suffering, especially if you went to the hospital as you may be able to recover more money than just damages to the car. I would consult with a lawyer here asap.

Are you a lawyer?
