Access to jail/prison/probation/parole records

Question Details:

My ex-husband is trying to get unsupervised visitation with our two children. He is a convicted felon for driving w/o a license; has two DWI's; and has been to jail 10 times. How can I get copies of all is jail related information to use to support my reasons for why he should not be allowed unsupervised visits????

You can get copies of his criminal records from the state of Vermont. Here is information on obtaining criminal records in Vermont: http://www.dps.state.vt.us/cjs/recordcheck/index.html. You may also try to obtain information from the courts where the convictions were entered.

You could also contact the prison where he served time and his parole officer. But keep in mind that they may not be able to give you information as it may be deemed private. Your best bet is to try and get the criminal records from the state.
