A woman I know got pulled over for her second OUI in 10 years and this time she had 2 minor children in the car, what will happen?

You friend needs to get an attorney as soon as possible.  Having a second OUI is serious enough but the Courts are becoming less and less tolerant of driving under the influence with kids in the car.  In general, a second OUI in Maine will yield the following penalties: a minimum seven-day jail sentence (twelve days for a refusal), a $700 fine ($900 for refusal) and an 18-month license suspension without a work-only license. If the defendant is under the age of 21, the minimum suspension is two years. Maine also suspends the right to register a vehicle for the period of the suspension. In addition, the judge can order drug or alcohol treatment at his or her discretion.  She needs to get help on all levels here. Good luck to her.
