Question Details: I'm 14-years-old and I lied to a 21-year-old and told him that I was 18. He believed me because I don't look anything like my age. We had sex and a few months later I found out that I was pregnant. I'm currntly 7mnths pregnant. Im in Social Service custody and they're tryin to press charges on him but have little information on him. It wasn't his fault; he doesn't know the truth and still thinks that I am 18. He doesn't deserve any trouble. Can I please get advice on the legal action for this case? Can they make me tell them who he is or his where abouts?
Although I do not practice law in the State of North Carolina, here are my initial impressions. The general rule is that no one can force you to answer questions without a warrant. Therefore, if you do not wish to answer the questions, simply refuse. This will prevent this person from getting in trouble. In any event, to protect your interests and the interests of your unborn child, I strongly suggest that you consult with a local attorney before meeting with ANYONE ELSE regarding this matter. Good luck.

Are you a lawyer?
