1. Will child's insurance cover accident in a borrowed vehicle? 2. Can child's father get into legal trouble for refusing to report to his insurance?
Question Details: My daughter's friend backed into my car with her father's truck in an apartment parking lot. Her father refuses to report it to his insurance company and wants his daughter to report it to her auto insurance company. There was no damage to the truck. What legal ramifications are there for the father refusing to cooperate?
Insurance follows the car--not the driver. If he won't report it, and there is damage to your car, he either has to pay for it out of his pocket, or you make a claim with his insurance company...assuming you know what company he's with.
