Lone Star Legal Aid — is a non-profit organization providing legal services to low-income clients in the East Region of Texas and 4 counties in southwest Arkansas. Lone Star has 14 branch offices and handles cases involving: family law, welfare and income assistance, discrimination, employment, health care, consumer issues, housing, neighborhood problems, education, and miscellaneous matters. The Lone Star Legal Aid website also provides useful Community Education Links.
| Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas — provides civil legal aid to the low-income community in North and West Texas. The site (available in English and Spanish) tells you how to get free legal help and lists useful legal resources.
| Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) — provides free civil legal services to indigent people of Central, South and West Texas, and to migrant and farm workers throughout Texas. This non-profit organization addresses a broad range of problems affecting the low-income community. TRLA has its own blog (follow the link from the home page), written in English and Spanish.
| TexasLawHelp — is an online resource for free and low-cost civil (non-criminal) legal assistance in Texas. The site provides an extensive alphabetical directory of legal service providers in Texas (see the Legal Aid Directory link). The site is also an excellent source of Texas-specific legal information. Resources are available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
| The Texas Access to Justice Commission — seeks to expand access to, and enhance the quality of, Legal Aid in Texas. Under the Find Legal Assistance (http://www.texasatj.org/LegalServicesandOth10DA2/index.asp) tab, the site lists services for low-income Texans (Texas-wide) and a county-by-county directory of legal service providers.
| Travis County Law Library — makes legal research materials available to the public. The Library’s website provides useful online resources, including:

| The Legal Hotline for Texans — offers legal advice and referrals to low-income Texans over the age of 60. The Hotline site makes publications available for download. A broad range of topics are covered, including:
Housing;
Health;
Private pension rights;
Alternatives to guardianship;
Nursing Homes;
Wills and probate.
| The Texas Advocacy Project — provides legal advice and assistance to victims of family violence and sexual assault. The site has an extensive Resource Center that includes publications and web links. The Project provides a number of services, including 3 Hotlines:
Family Violence Legal Line;
Sexual Assault Legal Line;
Family Law Hotline.
