State Bar of Texas — produces educational pamphlets on a variety of legal issues, including arbitration and dispute resolution. These publications can be downloaded from the site and some pamphlets are available in Spanish. From the menu on the left, follow the Pamphlets link under News & Publications. Specific arbitration-related publications are:
  • Dispute Resolution Guide;
  • Consumer Arbitration in Texas
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Texas — is a good source of information on arbitration. The site provides extensive arbitration links (listed under Resources) and answers to Frequently Asked Questions about arbitration and mediation (see About Texas ADR).
    Better Business Bureau Dispute Resolution Service — seeks to resolve disputes between businesses and consumers in an effective, low-cost way. The Better Business Bureau provides mediation services and is a common arbitration provider in Texas. Use the BBB look-up to locate your local Better Business Bureau website and office.
    Free Advice Arbitration Law Center — answers all your arbitration-related questions and explains the arbitration process in easy-to-understand language. The site addresses questions on a variety of arbitration topics, including:
  • Arbitration agreements;
  • Auto insurer disputes;
  • Basic steps involved in an arbitration;
  • How to find an arbitrator.

  • Arbitration and Mediation Attorneys — can help businesses and individuals resolve disputes in a timely, effective way. Use the lawyer directory at AttorneyPages.com to locate a Texas arbitration attorney close to you. Search by county, city, or zip code.
    Dispute Resolution Center of Harris County — is a non-profit organization that offers free dispute resolution services to Harris County residents. The center is mainly focused on mediation, a process whereby a neutral third-party (the mediator) helps parties to reach a resolution.
